Bum Marketing or costless ways to do internet marketing was dubbed that way by Travis Sago, or rather, his wife named it that way. The bum marketing system is nothing new. Bum Marketing has been used since the start of affiliate marketing. The bum marketer has used lots of promoting strategies to get his merchandise in front of hungry visitors. Now that Google has updated it’s search algorithm, christening it the infamous Panda update, is Bum marketing still as useful as it used to be?
Absolutely yes, is the answer to that question. Not lots has changed since the beginning. The only people which were effected as a result of the new update are those who haven’t presented value for their visitors. We all know that content is king on-line, and those people who are a little bit lazy in supplying our reader with original quality content, have been disciplined.
So what has this got to do with bum marketing? The bum marketer has simply not been effected by this if he has been syndicating his content in a creative way. Value is what Google is after, and if the bum marketer sticks to those golden rules, then he could have no setback. In fact I feel that the update has left a superb opening out there as everyone is abandoning their labors to research a “better” method.
The answer to the current difficulty isn’t difficult. Let’s take article marketing as an example. The strategy previously was to get as many articles published as achievable. Spin them by means of some cheap spinner, and blast them out to as many sites as possible. Without regard really for page rank, or quality of the directories. I know, I used to do this myself. Quantity was the name of the game and the more back links the better. This has changed a bit nowadays and the tactic is absolutely not as simple as it used to be. Google has caught on to this, and now have penalized the evil directories and your back links are worthless.
What is the answer to the matter? In my opinion, and there are many of them out there, the bum marketer has to consider quality as opposed to quantity. If you are going to spin your article, and now for the massive clich?, use your brain! As for the article directories, I was checking out E-zine articles page rank the other day, and it’s not bad. What I’m trying to say is select directories that are quality oriented. A back link from a top quality directory is going to be worth more. Try to vary your syndication to just the very best. By doing this you will not only get quality back-links, but quality drip traffic as well.
